Thanks for visiting the website, Mark is the Owner, Designer and Chief Maker at Portland Sawmill

Mark Clegg spent his younger years in Weightlifting, Strongman & Powerlifting winning many titles and breaking many records.

BUT everyone gets older and when it became apparent his competing days were over he embarked on a new challenge, one he could do into his the second half of his life.

In his teens he qualified in carpentry and joinery but just did odd jobs here and there even though he enjoyed it. So on retiring for competition decided to get back into woodworking.

In the covid-19 lockdowns had no income so began “Portland Sawmill” to try and pay the bills and has since completed hundreds of jobs in Woodworking including Furniture making, Carving, Woodturning, Sign making and much more …………
